The Metrowest Basketball League provides winter youth basketball travel teams for grades 4 to 8, boys and girls, to member towns in the Boston suburbs. They do not manage towns, individual teams, or day-to-day operations.

Metrowest Basketball’s mission is to provide a competitive league for many different levels of play while also creating an environment where children and adults can enjoy basketball. They are constantly, to provide the best experience for the players, rules, and procedures should be reviewed.

Metrowest travel basketball overview

Attleboro is a member of the MetroWest basketball Massachusetts leading travel basketball league. Travel basketball is known to be more competitive than recreational basketball. Any players thinking about joining a traveling team should be aware of the following:

In addition to recreation league fees, a larger financial commitment is required.

A longer time commitment is required. Expect two nights of practice per week, with games on weekends and the occasional weekday.

During the Metrowest Travel season, it is expected that Metrowest Travel will be the most important sport and team. Metrowest Travel commitments must take precedence over all other sports and basketball leagues.

Attleboro Metrowest club teams and rec leagues are only available to Attleboro residents. Non-Attleboro residents are not permitted to audition or play.

About the MetroWest youth basketball

During the 10-week program, the Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest Youth Basketball Program provides over 750 children from Kindergarten to high school. The league is divided into grade levels: co-ed K-2, boys and girls grades 3-4, boys and girls grades 5-6, boys and girls grades 7-8, and boys and girls senior grades 9-12.

Metrowest Basketball Wellesley

The Wellesley Youth Basketball Association provides basketball programs for players of all skill levels.

Mini Raiders Program for Grades 1 and 2
  • Professional coaches are in charge!
  • WHEN: Beginning December 3rd and ending February 11th, 2023.
  • There will be no sessions on December 24, December 31, and January 14, 2023.
  • The registration period will begin in late May.
Grade 3 Basketball (Separate Teams for Girls and Boys)

  • Participate – Parent coaches supervise.
  • WHEN: 10 Saturdays beginning 11/19/22 and ending 2/11/2023
  • Mornings at Schofield Elementary School for Girls
  • Afternoons at Schofield Elem. School for Boys
  • There will be no sessions on December 24th or December 31st, 2012.
  • Parents who want to coach should fill out the Wellesley Hoops ADULT Coach Registration form online.
  • Player and coach registration will open in late May.
4th through 9th grades Wellesley Basketball League (Separate Teams for Girls and Boys)
  • Recommended Basketball League for a competitive and enjoyable basketball experience
  • WHEN: Beginning 11/8/22 and ending 2/11/23 (Playoffs may run from 2/27/22 to 3/12/23)
  • 1-night practice per week (Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday evenings). After teams are in formation, a practice schedule is on the list.)
  • 1 Saturday game per week (no games on December 24th, December 31st, February 18th, and February 25th – playoffs begin on February 27th)
EVERY TEAM MAKES THE PLAYOFFS

Players and coaches will be able to register in late May.

Metrowest (MW) grades 5-8
  • Players compete for a limited number of spots in a highly competitive travel league.
  • WHEN: From 11/2 to 2/26/23, with playoffs from 2/28 to 3/12/23.
  • From September 19th till September 30th, tryouts on various evenings. When it becomes available in September, an info tryout schedule will be public.
  • Playoffs begin the week of March 1st and can last until March 13th, depending on how far you advance.
  • Monday & Wednesday evening practices; 8th grade practices Saturday night
  • The league is for committed players who are willing to play games during February pause, and MLK weekend and many teams also participate in Thanksgiving tournaments.
  • The schedule is in such a way that players can also participate.
Boys and girls in grades 10-12: ——- > High School Rec League Wellesley Hoops
  • WHEN: Sunday games begin 12/11/22 and end 3/12/23
  • There will be no games during the month of February.
  • There are no practices.
  • FOCUS: A recreational league for all Wellesley resident or Wellesley High School student who is not enrolling in a high school basketball program (JV or Varsity level)
  • Referees are professional, but team selection and coordination are in care by students.
