Top 10 witch movies that will keep you enchanted

It is the time of witches movies. Throughout the year, we could all use a bit of magic in our lives, and Halloween is not just around the corner.

From creepy Disney movies you can watch with kids, to funny and bizarre films on Netflix and Hulu, to movies marathon with friends, there are empowering stories about good witches who make it. Here’s a look at the scariest Halloween movies of all time.

The Love Witch

Madcap elegance lends the brutality of the chic setting to the story of a love witch and the man obsessed with her. Enchant yourself by the opulent visual style of the artful masterpiece by Annie Billers 2016. Costumes and make-up take retro glam to a new level.

Practical Magic

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman lend star power to one of Hollywood’s most iconic films. Come for the romantic seaside setting; stay for the dark revenge and necromancy.

The Craft

The intense performances of Robin Tunney (Fairuza Balk) and Neve Campbell (Rachel) as actual telepathic High School witches lend the 1995 film lasting weight. Here you will find memorable lines that you may not know to be from the movie.

The Witch

Get ready to be seduced by the slick, surreal style as it descends into witch-like indulgence. Anya Taylor-Joy from the hit series Queens Gambit plays in this atmospheric thriller a puritanical peasant girl in a New World settlement during the famous era of witch trials. An update for 2020, shown at the camp, gave the original real Gothic girl magic. Add spells to work in your Halloween party game if you dare.

The Witches of Eastwick

The laughs are anchored with star bravado by Cher, Susan Sarandon, and Michelle Pfeiffer while Jack Nicholson builds it up as the underworld “devil whoop” (we mean Daryl Van Horne). A trio of beasts discovers that they are witches with enormous powers, and they must work together to defeat a devilish villain who arrives in their small coastal town. You will freak out and learn about the origins of witches and other creepy Halloween monsters.

A Wrinkle in Time

If you love puns, check out these fun Halloween costumes, including a devilish egg. If you fancy a galactic witch movie, visit Mrs. Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling star in this magical, mystical universe.

Escape to Witch Mountain

You will experience a visual feast as a young girl, her friends, and her little brother hop between dimensions on a father-saving mission. The film is an adaptation of the classic novel, and you will see for yourself why you should be everywhere. If you’re opting for later sequels or remakes, we recommend starting with Disney’s 1975 original about two orphans running away from the mysterious witches of the mountain. Saturated with telekinetic forces, and various villains are out to get them. They become friends with Grump in a mobile home and embark on an adventure using the hidden star map as a guide.

The Wizard of Oz

Margaret Hamilton plays the ultimate witch icon, the wraith witch of the west, with green skin, long fingernails, a broomstick, and the skywriting in black smoke. Glenda is good too, but Hamilton steals the show by riding a bike, while Toto steals the meanness with Miss Gulch.

Into the Woods

Meryl Streep received an Oscar nomination for best-supporting actress for her portrayal of the cursing witch. The Grimm fairy tale musical is a pastiche adaptation of the successful Broadway musical. The fantastic forest scenery surrounds classic characters such as Little Red Riding Hood, Wolf, Cinderella, and Rapunzel, who are involved in the evil machinations of the witches. If you can get away with it, get some ideas for classic family Halloween costumes.
