At the beach and at Lake Lure Water Park, people cool off with a dip in the clear waters and views of the Blue Ridge Mountain. This area has a traditional beach and a children’s park with a waterslide and water attractions. If you don’t feel like diving into the water, you can always have a picnic in the shade of the park.    

Alternatively, you can build sandcastles with your kids and have fun. You’ll also find beach houses selling towels, chairs, sunscreen, floats, toys, and more.

LAKE Lure Beach Timing

Lake Lure Beach and Waterpark are only open on weekends (Saturday – Sunday) from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. 

Lake Lure’s beach and water park have their own opening calendar each year. So be sure to check their official website for a specific date when the establishment is open.

 In 2020, Lake Lure Beach and Waterpark will be available on August 15, 16, 22 and 23. The last working day is Monday, Labor Day. 

Entry Fees

Entrance fees to Lake Lur Beach vary according to the age of the visitors. A visit to the water park is included in the entrance ticket to the beach.   

  • Adults: USD 9
  • Seniors: USD 8
  • Kids ages 4 – 12 and 45″ & taller: USD 7
  • Kids under 4: Free of charge (must be accompanied by an adult)

Admission to the water park is included in the beach admission price.  

Are you looking for hotels near Lake Lure Beach? 

 There are plenty of places to stay by the lake, but we’ve picked a few you might want to visit. Our first choice went to the Chimney Rock Inn.   

This hotel is just 0.8 miles from Lake Lure, which means you can visit the lake anytime in the world. The unique thing about these accommodations is that they have 6 beautiful private cabins that guests can book and 8 simple rooms. The cottage provides guests with more space and facilities and better privacy. Each house has its own unique features to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Some places have fireplaces, some have jacuzzis, and all cabins have kitchens for your convenience.   

The second accommodation option is a gazebo on Lake Lur. This cottage is conveniently located just an 8-minute walk from Lake Lour.    

Three cabins are available for booking: Hickory, Magnolia, Tall Oaks and Hemlock. The cabin has a king-size bed, a kitchen with utensils, a bathroom, cotton robes, a fireplace, a private terrace with a relaxing hot tub, board games and other entertainment. 

If you bring a pet with you, you can book the Magnolia or Hemlock Cottage as other cabins are not suitable for pets. If you want to spend the night in the wilderness near Lake Lur, you can always book a campground at Hickory Nut Falls Family Camping.   

This campground offers tent sites, log cabins, and motorhome sites in the beautiful Chimney Rock area. 

They have 70 campgrounds, 13 tent pitches and 2 cottages. You can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the Brod River from this campsite. 

Water and electrical connections are available (30 and 50 amps). The camp closes in November and reopens in March.    

Lake Lure Beach Rules

  1. The minimum height for the waterslide is 45 inches.  
  2. Children aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 
  3. Groups with more than 20 members receive $ 1 off the admission price. 
  4. Pets are not allowed on the beach. 
  5. No refunds in case of bad weather. 
  6. Refrigerators are permitted, but glass bottles and alcoholic drinks are prohibited.
