Pop star Rita Ora and the Director Taika Waititi have recently engaged and will soon take a walk down the aisle. Sources said that the couple ‘simultaneously’ proposed to one another and are planning to get married at a low profile wedding.
The wedding bells are still far as the newly betrothed couple is occupied with their workload. Ora is presently playing the role of mentor on the reality TV show: The Voice Australia. On the other hand, Taika has a lot on his plate, including a Star Wars movie.
Dating History of Taika and Ora
Dating rumours of the couple sparked in spring 2021 when they were photographed together in Sydney, Australia. Rita was shooting for his show: The Voice Australia, while Taika was directing the next instalment of the Thor series, Thor: Love and Thunder. Rita Ora, 31, and 46 years old Taika Waititi confirmed their affair when they were caught kissing on a balcony.
“I think in the world of the internet, everything goes away pretty quick,” the Oscar-winning filmmaker said in an interview a few months later after the viral kiss.
Ora and Waititi have been dating for over a year and a half, but they came together in front of the paparazzi on the red carpet at the premiere of Suicide Squad last year. Although they’ve just been dating for 18 months, they have been friends for many years.
Earlier this year, on the occasion of valentines day, Rita shared an Instagram post dedicated to Taika, posting numerous pictures of them together with the caption –
“Us. 4 years ago. To now. thanks for being cool. And entertaining me forevs..Happy Valentine’s Day bestie.”
Taika Waititi, director of Jojo Rabbit, also shared a photo on an Instagram post the same day. He wrote –
“First photo the night we met four years ago. We’ve been mates ever since. Then a year ago, we decided to ‘complicate’ things, but it just got easier. Happy Valentines Day to my bestie Rita.”
Multitalented Taika Waititi
Taika, a New Zealand native, began his career in the late 1990s and has since developed and starred in a number of films, television shows, and short films.
Taika has worked in the film industry for several years, first as an actor and now as a writer and director.
Waititi never attended film school and learned most of his abilities on his own. Waititi works naturally, as opposed to filmmakers who exhaustively analyse technical nuances like framing or scene transitions.
He performed regularly stand up in his early days. 2003 release “Two cars, One Night” was his first professional film.
In 2004, in Newzealand, he launched his own show: “Taika’s Incredible Show”.
Taika has received significant recognition for his comedic and dramatic qualities as an actor.
In his direction, Taika Waititi has a unique ability to balance emotional drama with light-hearted comedy in his films. He received worldwide recognition after directing Marvel’s production, Thor: Ragnarok (2017). He also led the critically acclaimed movie Jojo Rabbit (2019).
He gave voice to the Marvel comic character Korg in movies and played significant roles in Jojo Rabbit and Free Guy.
Taika also directed the finale episode of the first season of “The Mandalorian”. Television shows made under his supervision include The Inbetweeners, Flight of the Conchords, and What We Do in the Shadows.
