Ridge is a 1984 American epic science fiction film written and directed by David
Lynch, based on the 1965 Frank Herbert epic of the same name. Kyle MacLachlan (in his film debut) plays Paul Atreides, a young aristocrat, and the film has a cast of prominent American and European comedians in supporting roles.
