We are not even aware of how much emissions our gas boilers contribute. The emissions lead to overheating of our planet. Are we coming up with alternatives to help our nature not burn? What new alternatives the government is planning for heating homes!
What is the International Energy Agency planning?
Firstly, the government should assist with the manufactures of gas boilers, and help them create boilers that can convert to run on Hydrogen.
Secondly, theyare planning to ban the sale of all the new gas-only boilers by 2030.
IEA says, “To achieve the environmental goal there should be no new gas boilers sold from 2025 and ban all of them around 2030.”
They are planning to ban all the gas boiler till 2030 to reach net zero.
How will we use Hydrogen?
Hydrogen can be taken away from the water with the help of surplus electricity from wind farms to produce clean fuel.
Although, the government’s climate experts suggest that this procedure will only produce enough Hydrogen to heat only 11% of the UK’s houses. Experts also say that most of the houses will stay warm with the help of heat pumps in future.

What are heat pumps, and how will they be used?
Heat Pumps are devices that work opposite to the working of a refrigerator. These pumps take out the warmth from the ground, water and air.
There is a scheme, Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive, under which Heat Pumps will be subsidised by the government. And, people will be receiving payments for the seven years that will depend upon the amount of renewable heat that their heating systems made.
As the heat pumps are already expensive, the MP’s say that people would need a good amount of money to install heat pumps.
Installations are just a hassle. Any technology used to fit a heat pump is chaos. There are even big radiators that install by digging your house floors.

Green Homes Grant introduced by the government was a plan to get heat pumps installed but ended up as a failure.
The government said the following regarding the same:
They planned on the heating house by warm water coming from flooded mines.
To Avoid and ignore the hype over Hydrogen Heating.
They also planned on warming historical houses with sea heat.
What else can we do to solve this problem?
We would have to come up with solutions soon as according to a survey 14 per cent of greenhouse gases are emitted from the house of UK and those emissions are similar to the emissions coming out of our cars so, you know how harmful it is for the planet.
Below are some way and alternative that can be done for clean home heating.
The plan is to warm the new housing estates by district network of pipes that will provide the houses with a single low-carbon source(that could be a heat pump in a river)
At some places, the old traditional way of heating homes by either burning the woods or fuel crops. (Although, we still need to come up with a solution of smoke generating out of burning wood because that is dangerous too)
There are places like Penzance that have already built a geothermally heated swimming pool that uses the hot underground rock to produce heat.
There is also one idea that came from an agency that takes care of decommissioned coal. They suggested pulling out warm water from old mine shafts for home heating.
The nuclear industry suggests using the abundance of heat from nuclear stations.
Using heat batteries is also one solution. Building heat panels to capture the heat and make the home warmer.
There are indeed many alternatives for gas boilers to warm our houses. But, all of them come with a high price. So, shifting to an alternative might be a tough switch but, obviously better for the environment. WE can wait for the government to make new plans for the same situation.
