Confusion and leisure overtook Twitter on Thursday and Friday while HBO Max despatched a bizarre email to its subscribers.

Subscribers obtained an e-mail Thursday with the issue line “Integration Test Email #1,” and the body of the e-mail most effective containing one sentence: “This template is utilized by integration tests only.” 

Streaming users immediately became to Twitter to voice their worries, with many growing memes saying that it can be a new show that HBO is airing.

“INBOX: Integration Test Email #1, an interesting new drama from HBO Max,” one person tweeted.

“Lol if it seems the HBO Max electronic mail goof is a stunt for a brand new display referred to as Integration Test Email then congrats to the advertising and marketing team,” another person wrote.

Director James Gunn tweeted that he was hoping the combination email “is by some means step one in extremely clever viral marketing for #Peacemaker,” his upcoming display. Others even tried to take credit for the email.

“I desire anyone watches my new show known as Integration Test Email #1 coming to HBO Max quickly! We’re trying something new with the advertising….,” a consumer tweeted.

The culprit at the back of the e-mail? An intern.

“We apologize for the inconvenience, and because the jokes pile in, yes, it changed into the intern. No, in reality. And we’re helping them through it,” HBO Max later tweeted.
