Fiji is a South Pacific Island republic in Melanesia. Fiji’s archipelago covers an area of 18,300 square kilometres and is made up of 330 islands and 500 islets, with 110 islands permanently owned. Viti Levu and Vanua Levu are Fiji’s most populous islands, accounting for over 87 percent of the country’s population. Suva, Nadi, and Lautoka are the three largest settlements in this area. The country’s economy is well-documented, with many shared assets such as minerals, fish, and woodlands.
