5 MCU Mistakes That Marvel Acknowledged Themselves

Marvel Studios has gained incredible success in its cinematic universe department since its debut with Iron Man in 2008. Since then, it has developed over 20 productions which have created a huge fan base for the franchise, making it one of the most successful production houses in the industry. Although it is such a successful production house, it also makes mistakes every now and then. Here are 5 mistakes which marvel has acknowledged themselves, and none of them is about continuity;

Eyebrows of Thor

Thor (2011)

Eyebrows of Thor

Thor (Chris Hemsworth), is one of the most powerful and lovable characters in MCU. Since the character’s debut in 2011, his appearance has been changed multiple times from being a long-haired, in-shape god to a fat guy whose main concern was to beat “noobmaster69” in Fortnite, and at last, a trimmed hair look wielding a new weapon to defeat Thanos.

Kevin Fiege has been happy with the creative decisions which were made around Thor, but he admitted that dying Thor’s eyebrows wasn’t a great decision and he is glad that they had to stop doing it.

The Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Gauntlet

The Infinity Gauntlet has one of the most powerful weapons mentioned in the MCU till date. But the first time it was mentioned in Thor, it had all the 6 infinity stones attached to it and it was stored in Odin’s vault, but Odin having possession of all the infinity stones just didn’t made any sense because it didn’t agree with the story which Marvel was trying to convey. Then later when Age of Ultron was released in 2015, it showed Thanos wielding another gauntlet which left the audience confused.

But it wasn’t long before Marvel realized its mistake and then fixed it in Thor: Ragnarok, when Hella said that the gauntlet in Odin’s vault is a fake one.

Warlock

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Warlock

Collector’s vault’s first appearance was in Thor: The Dark World, and in that appearance, there was a glimpse of Adam Warlock’s cocoon in it. But the confusing moment for the audience was when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was released in 2017, and the real cocoon of warlock was displayed on the Sovereign planet at the end of the movie.

The former mentioned cocoon was not the actual one but just a lookalike and was later burned to avoid any future misconceptions.

Stan the Man

Guardian of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017)

Stan the Man

The cameos of Late Stan Lee were an important highlight of MCU films, and as fans the excitement for the cameos were no less than the actual movie.

In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, James Gunn tried to link all the Stan Lee’s cameos in one. In the movie, Stan Lee appeared as an astronaut and was telling the Watchers about the times from his life. In doing so he mentioned the time when he was a FedEx delivery guy. He also referred to his cameo in Civil War, which takes place in 2016.

But in this the error was that the story of Vol. 2 was set in 2014 so how can he possibly mention the future. Later on, Gunn admitted the mistake and also stated that Stan Lee could have been mentioning some other time when he was an agent.

Timeline

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

Spider-Man
Spider-man Homecoming

Homecoming marks the debut of Tom Holland as the latest Spider-Man in the cinematic universe. The film was started with its ties with The Avengers and then other events were set after 8 years of The Avengers. The timeline jump was somewhat inaccurate and it should have been 4-5 years instead of 8. Later, the Endgame directors also agreed to this and Endgame cleared the timeline. In order to map the events of The Infinity Saga without any confusions.
